Carbonite Sports Youth Flag Football has made the very difficult decision to cancel our plans for a 2020 Fall Season.

We sincerely apologize to all our parents and young athletes who may have been looking forward to a fun fall activity. However, based on all of the information currently available from various sources, including the NFL Flag organization, State of Wisconsin and the CDC, we do not believe that hosting a youth football season this fall is in the best safety and well being interest for parents, players or coaches. While there exist guidelines and recommendations for "returning to play" safely, implementing these consistently and the requirements for maintaining the safety of players and coaches would be very difficult and significantly impact the learning environment and fun of the sport. 

We plan and hope to be back again in the spring of 2021. It has been a difficult year, but we are committed to continuing the Carbonite Sports Youth Flag Football program into the future and providing a fun, family-centered, NFL Flag football experience to our communities.

Game Schedule: Games are played Saturdays in River Falls. Games are planned between 9am and 2pm. Team's game time will vary each week and a full schedule will be published before the start of the season. There are 6 regular season games planned and then a single-elimination tournament on the 7th weekend.

Practice Schedule: Our league does not have a set practice schedule, as coaches are volunteer parents. Each team's Head Coach sets their own practice schedule. Players and teams should plan to practice two nights per week for about 1 to 1.5 hours. Coaches will coordinate with parents on a weekly practice time and location.

Age Divisions for 2020: our planned age division break-down will be:

  • 5-6 years old
  • 7-8 years old
  • 9-11 years old
  • 12-14 years old
  • 15-17 years old

However, depending on number of registrations per age group, divisions may be adjusted or combined in order to roster full teams. 

For Spring 2020, our planned alternate divisions would likely be:

  • 5-6 years old
  • 7-8 years old
  • 9-10 years old
  • 11-12 years old
  • 13+ years old

BE A COACH TO YOUR KID'S TEAM!

Each team has a parent Head Coach - it is a great experience and a way to be involved in your player's activity. If you are willing to volunteer to be a Head Coach for your Player's team, there is a separate Head Coach registration link at the bottom of this page. 

There is no fee to be a Head Coach, however all Head Coaches must pass a background screen in order to be eligible to coach.

Each team's Head Coach will be responsible for scheduling regular practice days and times for his/her team and establishing regular communication with parents and players. Please plan that practices may start two to three weeks before the first Saturday game.

Sports Engine App

Carbonite Sports Flag Football uses a third party platform called SportsEngine to facilitate the league registration and payment processing. SportsEngine is a Twin Cities based company with an excellent reputation.

In order to register a Player or Head Coach, you will be prompted to create an account with SportsEngine. Creating this account will then also allow Carbonite Sports Flag Football to best communicate with you, your Player and your team during the season. You may have used this system if your kids play other league sports - if so, your existing SportsEngine account should work for Carbonite Sports Flag Football.

Refund policy: 70% of the registration fee will be refunded if the league is notified within 2 weeks prior to the date of the first game of each season. Due to the costs of ordering jerseys, flag belts, game equipment and hiring referees, no refunds will be given after this date.
